Formal city dining rooms are often neglected and under-utilized spaces that only get opened up and dusted off a few times a year for special occasions. Instead of trying to create a casual eat-in kitchen directly adjacent to a more formal dining room, I opted to avoid duplication and have only one proper dining area.
